Our story

Heima Therapy started as an idea between two friends, Chandrima and Stuti, who also happen to be therapists. We feel like home with each other every time we meet, and spend our working days attempting to extend the same feeling to our clients.

“Heima”, our name, means ‘at home’ in the Icelandic language.

Home is a place that immediately makes us think of safety, comfort, and freedom. And that is what a home should be— even for those of us for whom our homes could have or should have been safe spaces, but never were.

Heima is a sentiment. It is a feeling. It is also the name of one of our favourite songs. Here, we have added it here for you to listen to in a quiet moment. If you do happen to listen to it, we’d love to hear your thoughts. :)

Just like our story, your story also matters. We hope to use Heima as a space to accord your story the respect it deserves.

As therapists, we believe that change begins in an environment of openness and complete acceptance, and grows with the support of a therapist who challenges the perspectives that keep you stuck. Our job is to offer our observations and ask questions that help you reflect and grow in a safe, judgment-free environment.

Step into Heima and start your therapy journey with us.
